Hello Bloomington Campus Students and Families!

I am very excited to be starting this new role as our school enters year 14! When I returned from teaching conversational English to children in Thailand in 2006 and began looking for work in the American public school system, I found a posting on Craigslist for a Special Education Paraprofessional at a brand new charter school. From Paraprofessional to Teacher, Instructional Coach to Director of Assessment, former Board member and member of our Administrative Leadership Team, my roles at Seven Hills have been many and the learning has been continual. I never imagined how a small spark of curiosity those many years ago would grow into passionate and devoted career aspirations. It is curiosity and wonder like this, I have come to learn, that are crucial components to Classical education. My story of growth and development is one example in which lifelong learning can take hold. I look forward to inviting each one of us in our community to wonder, be curious, and to explore where learning takes hold in their own lives. I hope the rest of your summer goes swimmingly. My name is Carolyn Farrell and I am the new Principal of the Richfield Campus. I am so excited to be in this new role and want to welcome each of you to the 2017-2018 school year. This year will be my seventh year at Seven Hills Preparatory Academy. I spent the first three years working with the Special Education team as a Special Education administrator, the next two in the role of Associate Principal, and last year served as Interim Principal of the Bloomington Campus. During this time, I was fortunate to be part of the administrative team that maintained and developed systems and routines and curricular programming for the success of Seven Hills. My background includes working with teams, including teachers and parents, to successfully grow our mission to engage students in strong citizenship and lifelong learning.

At Seven Hills, we engage students in a rigorous Classical education, and prepare each one for life-long learning. I will continue to work diligently to uphold the mission established at Seven Hills by building strong relationships with parents, student, staff and community partners. I look forward to connecting with the Richfield community. Together, we will continue to demonstrate excellency in our educational programs.
