ACADEMIC PROGRAMMING

By outlining the precise content that every child should learn in core subjects, our curriculum strengthens the foundations every child needs to know to reach their full potential.

Standards around language arts and literature, history and geography, mathematics, science, music, and the visual arts result in the ability for our students to think critically and solve problems, achieve higher test scores, and be more responsible citizens. At SHPA, we teach this curriculum grade-by-grade, year-by-year, in a coherent, age-appropriate sequence. By the time our students reach high school, they can read, think, write and discuss at a very high level, are confident of their ability to learn, and often out-perform their peers from traditional public schools.

Teachers, staff, and families lend their support in many ways. Teachers adopt curricular areas to meet individual student needs through curriculum mapping and alignment with Minnesota Education Standards. Through frequent communication between home and school about individual academic strengths and areas for student growth, families remain engaged in and informed about their child’s learning.

Additionally, all our students are viewed as capable of succeeding. We seek to challenge each one through their individual abilities. Our community does not compromise with our vision and we are dedicated to bringing each child up to and beyond (when possible) grade level. With our simultaneous attention to programming and student needs, the enrichment program at Seven Hills is designed to accommodate both remediation and gifted and talented needs.
