Community Support, Family, Engagement, Final Distance Learning DistributionTou Thao
Dear SHPA Families,
We know so many in our community are hurting right now from the tragic events of this past week. Our Classical model is guided by values of empathy and open-mindedness. It is grounded in diversity and inclusion. It aspires to truth and goodness. We remain dedicated to these values and virtues during this difficult time. We also remain committed to our important and necessary work in equity, and believe in the promise of our mission to prepare strong citizens and lifelong learners for a diverse world in which they make lasting contributions.
We have shared with our teachers resources provided to us by the Minnesota Department of Education (“MDE”) to support students as they process the events of this past week. The MDE has also provided resources for families in need of additional services during the summer, including food access, school-age care, financial assistance, family activities, and mental health support, Please see the attached flyer and the following links for translated resources: Hmong, Spanish, and Somali. Finally, the MDE is sponsoring a Family Engagement Week with webinars beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2nd. Please see the schedule and registration links below.
