Reminder Fall Learning Scenario Update/ Actualización del escenario de aprendizaje de otoño
Good Afternoon SHPA Families,
This is a reminder email following last week’s announcement by the Governor of the Stay Stafe MN Learning Plan for schools. We know this is a developing situation as well as a stressful one for many of you. We understand this, and we will continue to seek input from our community, consult with the MDE, and work closely with the MDH in determining what the best fall learning scenario is for our school based upon ongoing analysis of the COVID -19 County Case Rate Data for K-12 schools (please see attached for reference).
To assist us in our planning, if you know now that you prefer distance learning even if the school is in a hybrid or in person model, please complete the following survey prior to this Friday morning, August 7th : https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2V3QZKY. If you are comfortable being onsite in an in person or hybrid model, you do not need to complete this survey. We know some of you may wish to see more information on our enhanced distance learning model or hybrid learning plan prior to making your decision. As more information is shared, we will allow a limited opportunity to change your choice prior to the start of the school year. However, we also must balance this with our need to plan for student services and staffing levels. We will also permit such changes at certain points throughout the school year as circumstances change and the situation develops.
The health and safety of our students and staff remains central to our scenario planning. The overall development and social-emotional well being of children, and our continuing commitment to educational equity and our Classical model are also very important. We expect to share our decision regarding a fall learning model with our families by the end of this week. This communication will include some additional information on related practices, services, and supports. Further planning details will be made available in the weeks ahead as we continue to prepare for a safe and successful first day of school.
Thank you,
The SHPA Administrative Leadership Team
