Fall Return Parent Survey Results and Upcoming Communications
Hello SHPA Families,
We hope you have been able to enjoy the summer despite some of the continuing challenges we are experiencing. Thank you to those who were able to complete the survey to help inform our fall scenario planning. The summary results are attached for your reference.
We have reviewed this important parent feedback, taken into consideration the State’s survey results, and are incorporating this into our planning of three potential scenarios for the fall and throughout the school year: on-site, distance learning, or a hybrid combination of these two. The Minnesota Department of Education will announce the recommended delivery model by the week of July 27th, and we will provide a planning update to our families following release of that information. Please know that student safety remains our first and foremost priority in addition to ensuring educational equity and the overall well-being and development of children.
Looking ahead, we aim to provide you with some midsummer updates with respect to staffing at both campuses, any notable changes in curriculum and programming, and any significant procedural updates. This last includes the upcoming replacement of a school-wide nut free policy with a nut-free zone policy based upon our research and discussion over the past year. We will provide further details on the implementation of this policy replacement at a later date, knowing that the delivery model(s) for next year will impact this process.
Continue to enjoy the summer and stay healthy and safe,
The SHPA Leadership Team
